About Krista...

Krista Clausen was crowned Miss Delaware USA 2012 on November 27, 2011 at the beautiful Sheraton Hotel in Dover Delaware. She is the daughter of Keith and Terri Clausen of Georgetown, and has a brother, Zach. She will always remember the exhilaration and honor she experienced as the Miss Delaware USA crown was placed on her head.

Krista graduated from Sussex Central High School with high honors and is now a University of Delaware Freshman studying Special Education. Upon graduation she feels called to teach children with disabilities. In addition to college, Krista stays busy working as a sales associate at Sunglass Hut where she enjoys constantly meeting new people. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family, and exercising.

Krista strongly believes in giving back to her community. She has volunteered for the Special Olympics, local pageants, charitable fundraising events, and area schools where she talked to the children about diversity appreciation and peer pressures. As she sets her sights on new dreams and goals, she looks forward to working with Angela Viscount, Miss Delaware Teen USA, as they serve their state. Krista realizes the title of Miss Delaware USA will serve as a platform to continue and expand her community service.

Krista looks forward to the year ahead and the memories that will last a lifetime. She will treasure every moment during her reign as Miss Delaware USA and is extremely honored for the privilege of representing her home state of Delaware at the 2012 Miss USA Pageant!
